4. Headlights need to be treated like a system among all vehicles. There needs to be a maximum beam height that all vehicles must comply with. So it should not matter if a big vehicle or a small vehicle is behind or in front of you -- their headlights will not be blasting into your eyes.

5. Headlights should be designed for and tested under realistic conditions. They should take into account rated loading of vehicle, typical voltage of closer to 14V rather than 12V and road conditions that are real world with bumps and uneven surfaces.

6. Automotive lighting should be standard among vehicles. They should all have the standard selection of Off, Park and On. Stop the proliferation of creative lighting such as Volvo's "headlights and tailights On when the switch is in the Off position".
